Zed reveals upcoming project

10262077_10152561914855579_6676845062263346840_nThe burn returns this August, as South Bay stoner-rock troupe Zed preps for the release of “Trouble in Eden,” the follow-up album to 2013’s bludgeoning, “Desperation Blues.” And we have a sneak peak into the first single: “Save You From Yourself” follows the trail blazed throughout Zed’s career, complete with provocative riffs, snarky vocals, and a snarled upper lip.

“Save You From Yourself” features a Sabbath-esque main riff, complicit in minor-chord frivolity, laced with a simple-yet-texturing, wah-wah-drenched solo. Like Sabbath, Zed is obsessed with the blues, and the thick, sludgy disposition it brings.

And if you’re in the Bay, you can catch Zed at SF’s Bottom of the Hill for a live debut of “Trouble In Eden” on Aug. 19. Visit Zed’s Facebook page for details on the formal release, slated for Aug. 26. Stay tuned to Your Record Collection Sucks for forthcoming reviews of Zed’s latest project.

Stay tuned for a review of “Trouble In Eden.”
